Besides the games ported across from console Grid Autosport, Valiant Hearts, Dark Souls 2 and Titanfall the PC saw a host of bona fide success stories. This meant that PC gamers with the right setup could play the awesome Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 in 4K and at 60fps. Many of the dungeons are devilishly brilliant, and its melancholy story is arguably Zeldas best. On the release front the PC received most of the excellent console releases and with Microsoft adopting an ecosystem policy, it also got what would have previously been Xbox console exclusives. PC gamers have already had a pretty good year in 2016 for multi-platform games, new exclusive to even older console games finally coming to pc. The Geforce Titan X retailed for about $1200! It is also clearly the most powerful, with processors that kill what’s on offer inside the Xbox One and PS4 Pro, and GPUs that cost more than many cars. In 2016 consoles became more like PCs (we had the mid-gen upgrade that is the PS4 Pro and the reveal of the Xbox Scorpio) yet the PC continued to be the only true place to get fully customisable games and the full range of genres out there. Feel like leveling characters in a role-playing game Disco Elysium: The Final Cut and The Witcher III: Wild Hunt got what you need. Its easy to forget what happened last week, never mind six or seven months ago, but looking back, 2017 was a bountiful year for PC games. ![]()
